In recent years, beauty has borrowed liberally from the produce aisle. Cleansers with kale, serums with mushrooms, and “food-grade” personal care have become shorthand for products that feel both natural and nourishing. But long before “skin food” was trending, Weleda was already there. Headquartered in Switzerland, Weleda pioneered the idea of feeding the skin with plant-rich care — most famously through its iconic Skin Food, the ultra-nourishing cream that has earned cult status worldwide.
That same philosophy carries into its lip care, where quality botanicals, transparency, and sustainability converge. Importantly, none of Weleda’s formulas rely on synthetic preservatives, fragrances, or colorants. Instead, the scents come directly from the essential oils and plant extracts inside, and this is underscored by Weleda’s NATRUE certification, which ensures products are free from GMOs and unnecessary synthetics.

Lip Care That Lives Up to the Legacy
Everon Lip Balm (with Beeswax)
Infused with delicately scented rose extract and responsibly sourced beeswax. It’s soothing, healing, and deeply moisturizing — an everyday staple that protects without heaviness. The beeswax is ethically harvested, supporting sustainable beekeeping. Titanium dioxide-free.
Skin Food Lip Butter (Vegan, Beeswax-Free)
A plant-based alternative crafted with nourishing natural oils and butters. It offers the same intensive care as the legendary Skin Food cream, now in lip-specific form. Vegan and titanium dioxide–free, it’s a clean, modern option that reflects the brand’s forward-looking ethos.

Weleda Lip Care: Legacy in Action
Featuring the iconic Everon Lip Balm with responsibly sourced beeswax, and the vegan Skin Food Lip Butter, Weleda continues to exemplify clean, ethical beauty. Both formulas are free of titanium dioxide and crafted with high-quality plant extracts, offering nourishing care for sensitive lips.
Editor’s Note: I’ve personally tested Weleda’s skincare and lip products for years. All products featured have been independently purchased.
The Legacy in Action
Weleda embodies “clean beauty before clean was cool.” The brand’s century-long commitment to natural farming, rigorous plant research, and ethical sourcing has shaped modern expectations for clean, responsible beauty.
This legacy was recently reinforced through a recent full brand modernization, the first in over 100 years: logo, typography, packaging, and visual identity were refreshed. The iconic typeface remains but is refined for a cleaner, more elegant style. The tagline now emphasizes “Swiss Natural Science,” highlighting Weleda’s expertise in medicinal plants, research, and Swiss laboratory formulation. The rebrand also reinforces sustainability: new packaging is rolled out gradually to avoid waste, digital and physical spaces reflect the updated identity, and the modern design bridges heritage and contemporary appeal.
minLen and Princess Madeleine: Clean Skincare for the Next Generation
This spring, Weleda deepened its legacy by launching minLen, a multi-generational line co-created with Princess Madeleine of Sweden (Madeleine Bernadotte), focusing on protecting young people’s delicate skin. As social media trends push children toward potent ingredients like retinols and acids too early, minLen offers a thoughtful alternative — 100% natural, dermatology-vetted, and formulated with flax flower, wild blueberry, and sea buckthorn to nurture rather than overwhelm.
Princess Madeleine described the collaboration as deeply personal, rooted in her values as a mother and her concern for children’s skincare choices in an era where the wrong product can harm rather than help. For Weleda, minLen exemplifies credibility in action, reinforcing the B-Corp promise to uphold safety, sustainability, and trust — the same principles that have guided the brand since 1921.
